With Javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem's competitive performance in the qualifying round of the Javelin throw this morning, Pakistan's last hopes of winning a medal are still alive. Arshad won a bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games and qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The qualification mark for the Javelin throw at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 was set at 83.50 metres. Athletes are split into two qualifying groups, each with 16 athletes. Arshad competed in Group B this morning, and he topped his group with an incredible throw of 85.16 metres.

After failing in his first attempt, Arshad threw the javelin past the qualification mark on his second attempt. Weight lifter, Talha Talib is the only athlete who has an exceptional performance at the event and now Arshad Nadeem is the only hope of nation for a medal at this global event.
