Sergio Ramos made a total of 671 appearances for Spanish giant club Real Ma
drid. In his 16 long years at the club he scored recor101 goals including two Champions League final goals. His 16 years at club brought so much success into club with a lot of European andomestic trophies. But all good things must come to an end as his contract at Real Madrid expired and club didn't renew his contract as there were negotiation issues.

Ramos is famous for his brave defensive work along with bulk of red cards and yellow cards to stop opposition from scoring. He was a leader on and off pitch for Real Madriduring his time at the club. But he broke down in tears in his farewell press conference as he announced he is  leaving the club after 16 years.

In 2020-21 season Sergio Ramos made only 21 Real Madrid appearances in all competitions, with just five of them coming in 2021. This injury prone season has given Ramos major shock as he was left out of Spain's Euro 2020 squad by coach Luis Enrique.

Ramos is leaving the club but he will forever be a club legend and legend of Laliga as well. He will be greatly missed in El Classico and Spanish league.

Controversy:

Sergio Ramos said that he "never wanted to leave Real Madrid" and claimed he would have accepted the club's offer of a one-year contract extension, but he was told it had expired.

This claim by Ramos has made this exit controversial as he wanted to stay and retire at his loved club but Club didn't want to renew his contract. This issue has made some fans angry at the club management but it's an emotional moment for Real Madrid fans all over the world.
