Euro 2020 final Italy vs England

Italy beat England 3-2 on penalties to win their second European Championship title as England's hopes of bringing european championship home crushed down by heroic performance of Donnarumma

Italy won the Euro 2020 final 3-2 on penalties after a 1-1 tie after extra time at Wembley on Sunday, securing their second European Championship title. England was dealt a major setback at home after penalties were missed by their young players. Finally, 'it's not coming home,' because it's off to Rome.

Leonardo Bonucci, who scored Italy’s tying goal and then converted his penalty kick in the shootout, got the last word on the “It’s coming home” as he faced camera and shouted 'It's coming to Rome' which must have seeped through the hearts of English supporters.

Donnarumma heroics:

In the shootout, Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma saved the day for the Azzurri, as England's substitutes Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Bukayo Saka all missed from the spot.

Gareth southgates controversial subtitutes:

England manager Gareth Southgate used the correct tactics throughout the match until the 120th minute of extra time, when he made two substitutions, replacing experienced players Kyle Walker and Jordan Henderson with Marcus Rashford of Manchester United and Manchester's new signing Jadon Sancho.
He replaced two experienced players with two young players who couldn't get over their nerves and failed to convert from the spot in the biggest match in England's modern history. Bakayo Saka was the other substitute who missed a penalty that would have given Italy their second European title and extended their unbeaten run.

Luke Shaw scored fastest goal of Euro 2020:

England took the lead in the second minute after Luke Shaw scored the fastest goal in a Euro final. On the right, Harry Kane fed Kieran Trippier, whose magnificent cross was drilled home first time by left back Shaw.

Bonucci got a historic goal in final:

When England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford pushed Marco Verratti's header against the post in the 67th minute of the match, Bonucci pounced on the loose ball and sent it back into the net. England hasn't won a major trophy since 1966, which is a major disappointment.
Here are some tweets from Italy's celebrations after winning the European Championship.

Back in Italy fans erupted to streets to start the party which would surely carry on for few days.

In the end congrats to team Italy as they proved to be dark horses of the tournament and won it ultimately as they write a fairytale at Wembley. Veterans Bonucci and Chiellini deserved every bit of this championship as they are in final years of their career. Ultimately they won UEFA European championship together.

Congratulations to team Italy and their fans. Hands down to England for coming this far in tournament as their crown Prince William left a video message for his team after suffering heart break.
